Chamber to Host Tourism Leadership Luncheon

 

Hudson, NY – The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon for local tourism leaders on Wednesday, May 13. The luncheon will begin at 12:00 pm at the Historic Blue Stores in Livingston.

 

The Historic Blue Stores restaurant and hotel was built in 1840 in Livingston.  This structure has been completely renovated and will host 12 guest rooms and a 120 guest function room. The facility has a restaurant that will serve lunch & dinner, and hosting banquets, weddings and special occasions.

 

A presentation will be given by Daniel C. Murphy, Presidnet of New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association who will speak about tourism as an economic driver and successful models he has witnessed for pulling tourism businesses together to achieve results. The New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association (NYSH&TA) is the oldest state lodging association in the country. Founded in 1887 in Saratoga Springs , NYSH&TA originally represented New York State 's lodging industry. Today the association includes members from nearly all segments of the tourism industry and represents over 1,400 members.

 

PerformColumbia will also officially unveil their website and logo at the luncheon. This affiliate of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce is comprised of 25 local performing arts organizations that are working together to advance the performing arts in Columbia County. Space is limited, so we advise attendees to reserve early. A light luncheon will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their promotional materials for a group networking table at the event. The cost of the luncheon is $15.
