10 Things to do in April
Second Annual United Way Electronic Recycling Day
The United Way of Columbia & Greene Counties and Mr. e-Waste in Hudson are having the second annual Electronic e-waste recycling day on Saturday, April 5 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. “This is a community service day to prevent electronics from poisoning our landfills and to help raise money to support local programs that serve our senior community, our local children and that help to strengthen families”, said Brad Poster, Executive Director of UWCG. “Many local non-profits that provide help have lost millions of dollars from government grants. The UWCG which helps fund these local non-profits does not receive government grants. Through local personal contributions and fund raisers the UWCG touches thousands of local lives”. “Many of the laws governing recycling have changed in the last year”, said Alex Delia, Founder of Mr. e-Waste. “Many of the items that we accepted last year have no recycling value. You can bring in all electronic items including air conditioners and refrigerators, metal desks and file cabinets. For more information call the United Way of Columbia & Greene Counties at 518-943-3285.
