The Columbia County (New York) Chamber of Commerce is seeking an experienced, community-focused leader to manage and motivate a seasoned staff and committed group of volunteers, to achieve goals as determined by the Board of Directors, and to implement and communicate the mission of the organization.

In addition to proven leadership in Chamber of Commerce programs, the new President/CEO should have a background in economic development and tourism.  The candidate should have experience in government relations in order to maintain and enhance the excellent base/community relationship that exists between the Chamber and city, county, state and national representatives. Interest in utilizing and supporting higher education is important with Columbia-Greene Community College being prominent.  The Chamber is a membership based organization and member relations and recruitment is essential to overall success.  Event management experience will be required as the Columbia County Chamber hosts numerous large events each year such as the Buy Local Expo, Agricultural Brunch, Business After Hours, Annual Legislative Breakfast and a yearly Membership Celebration.

The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively with the Chamber’s many partners, our elected officials, and the volunteer Board of Directors.
