Committees

Board of Directors

Individuals who sit on the Board are responsible for overseeing the organization’s activities. Board members meet monthly to discuss and vote on the affairs of the organization. The Chamber’s Board of Directors consists of up to 17 members, of which 15 shall be elected.

Executive Committee

 A select few Board members are appointed to act on behalf of, and within the powers granted to them by, the Board of Directors. The committee meets once a month and normally consists of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Membership Committee

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce’s Membership Committee (aka Ambassadors) serves as an extended face of the chamber for new, existing, and prospective members. The committee meets monthly.

Leadership Columbia-Greene

 Leadership Columbia-Greene is a dynamic, community-based program designed to develop informed, action-oriented leaders to meet the future challenges of our area. The committee meets once a month.

Board of Directors Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee meets once a year in September and consists of not less than five (5) chamber members who are selected from the Board of Directors and appointed by the Chairman, with the advice and consent of the Board. The duty of the committee is to nominate, from the current Chamber membership, individuals to be voted on to fill vacancies on the board of directors. The committee is to be formed not less than 60 days before the annual election of new directors.

Columbia County Chamber Foundation Committee

This committee works to advance the foundation’s abilities to positively impact the quality of life in Columbia and Greene counties, to attract diverse business sectors, and to facilitate the development of business and community leaders within the region.
