Candlelight Night 2015 in Kinderhook
Candlelight Night 2015 in the Village of Kinderhook is December 11 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm in the Village Square at Route 9 and Hudson Street and throughout the Village of Kinderhook. Candle-lit luminaries will light your way throughout the village. It will take you back in time to a traditional holiday stroll. The night will be filled with fun, food, live music, fine local artisans, handmade gifts and local wine and spirit tastings. WinterWalk and Parade in Valatie
WinterWalk and Winter Parade in the Village of Valatie on Saturday, December 12. Parade begins at 5:00 pm sharp. WinterWalk runs from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Fun for the whole family. Carolers, music, Santa, sales at local stores, holiday treats, artisans, raffles, live music, dancers and much more. The Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School’s annual Winter Concert presents selections from Handel’s Messiah on Thursday, December 10 at 6pm and Friday, December 11 at 7pm at St. Mary’s Church, 429 E. Allen Street in Hudson. Under the direction of Lawrence Glatt, the concert is performed by the Hawthorne Valley High School Chorus, who will be joined by the students in grades 4 through 8 for selected pieces. The concert is performed in collaboration with the Columbia Greene Community Orchestra. All are invited to attend.
Holiday Funk Spectacular
Once again Club Helsinki presents the holiday-funk spectacular Holidelic – the brainchild of Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, producer, actor and dancer Everett Bradley – will usher in the holiday season at Club Helsinki Hudson, this year with a two-night stand celebrating the club’s 20th anniversary season. Candlelight Tours of Clermont
Clermont State Historic Site is holding a Tableaux Vivant of Christmas traditions through the ages, glittering decorations, and wassail and traditional holiday goodies served in the historic kitchen on Sunday, December 13 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. Dinner Theatre at the Vanderbilt House
The Vanderbilt House is offering “A Christmas Carol” Dinner Theatre on Saturday, December 19 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, December 20 at 6:00 pm. Celebration of Lessons & Carols
At 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20th the annual Celebration of Lessons & Carols will be held at Kinderhook Reformed Church. Included in this popular regional event will be readings, congregational singing, and choral and organ music of the Christmas season. Nine distinguished readers drawn from the area will be joined by an ensemble of over forty singers under the direction of David Smith. Pastor Rudy Visser will preside. Last year’s event was very enthusiastically received, with over 475 present. Arrival by 3:45 p.m. is recommended. Jingle Jangle: A Winter Celebration
Join The Olana Partnership for an afternoon of fun winter activity as we celebrate the day that the Church’s staff and servants usually celebrated Christmas—the day after! The Farm Complex and the Museum Shop/Visitor Center will be bustling with a range of 19th-century activities with a 21st-century twist. Come and spend the afternoon, or stop in amidst your other activities. There will be live music, craft making, food projects, ice carving, and horse and carriage rides. Pre-registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome.

The Greens at Copake Country Club is having a Casino Night on New Year’s Eve, December 31. Game tables open at 7:30 pm. Prizes will be announced at 11:30 pm.
