Old Fashioned Independence Day from 2:00 – 10:00 pm at Clermont State Historic Site.  A great day of family fun with 18th century crafts, Reenactors, music and entertainment.  Enjoy live music and hot food while viewing the Saugerties Fireworks over the Hudson River.  Fee is $10 per vehicle.  For more information about Clermont, visit

Experience an Outdoor Concert in Chatham
PS21: Performance Spaces for the 21st Century presents the eleventh Annual Paul Grunberg Memorial Bach Concert featuring award-winning American violinist, fiddler, and composer Jeremy Kittel and his exceptional band Saturday, July 2 at 7:30pm. With musical roots spanning the globe, the Jeremy Kittel Band has the drive of Celtic fiddling, spontaneity of jazz, soul of the blues, and intricacies of chamber music. People’s Parade in Kinderhook
July 4, Bring your patriotic spirit1  Decorate your car, stroller, wagon, garden tractor, bike…..Anything you can push, pull or ride, decorate it with good old American Pride!  Wear your best red, white and blue.  Not up for marching, bring a chair to relax and watch from the sidelines.  Patriots of all ages are welcome.  Parade kicks off at 11:00 am at the park on Rothermel Lane and ends in the Village Square.

Saturday, July 9, The Iron Horse Cigar Depot teams up with the Lazy Swan Golf and Country Club Village to host a Diamond Crown “Royal Treatment” Cigar event and cocktail party.  Open to all, $65.00 gets you a choice of one of the Diamond Crown, Julius Caeser or the Maximus cigars, 2 hour open bar beginning at 6:30 p.m. Cheese/crackers and 5 Hors d’oeuvre stations over top of the beautiful bar, live music, cigar specials and raffles.  You must purchase your tickets at-least two weeks prior for this one, and because it’s outdoors you can bring your significant other and show them a good time (and get their cigar!). Summerfest in Chatham

2016 Open Day
Equine Advocates 2016 Open Day on Saturday, July 16 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.  Spend a few hours walking around and meeting 86 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.  Most of them have been rescued and now are enjoying their life at the sanctuary.  Please feel free to picnic a the pond which is one of the most beautiful spots at the sanctuary.  Admission is free.  However donations are greatly appreciated!  All visitors will have to sign a release form upon arrival.  No pets allowed.  For more information visit their website at

Catfish Derby
6th Annual Leo Lasher Catfish Derby is going to be held on Saturday, July 16 at 10:00 am at 1 Main Street, Dutchman’s Landing Park in Catskill.  First prize for longest catfish is $500.00,  Registration fee per person is $15.00.  For detailed information or to register visit

Gerald Moore Reads from Memoir as a Journalist Saturday, July 16, 5–7 p.m., Chatham Bookstore.  Gerald Moore reads and discusses his memoir “LIFE Story: The Education of an American Journalist” at the Chatham Bookstore on Saturday, July 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. The Hudson author covered major stories for LIFE Magazine in the 1960s and 1970s. Floral designer Ariella Chezarhas changed the face of floral design as we know it today. She lead the way,creating a freer and slightly wild style while using seasonal and local flowers, shrub andtree branches. Her arrangements are breathtaking!  We are so lucky to have her talent in our area so you can imagine my excitement when she said “YES” to a book signing. Junior Saturdays
Summer Camps are being offered at the NYGP this season. 4 day camps are limited to 20 participants. Farm to Table Benefit Dinner
On Saturday, July 23rd, 2016, The Sylvia Center invites you to our annual Farm to Table Benefit Dinner in the fields of Katchkie Farm, hosted by Great Performances. The dinner features dishes inspired by The Sylvia Center’s Learning Garden — which proudly grows over 250 varieties of vegetables, fruits and herbs. Blueberry Festival
This popular event to be held on Sunday, July 31 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm will feature early 19th Century craft demonstrations and wares, antiques, live music and entertainment, magic act, activities for children, animals, sheep-shearing, plus many unique and highly talented craft vendors and artisans.  There will be blueberries galore and a *blueberry pancake breakfast in addition to a wide selection of tasty food items and baked goods.  NEW this year – Silent Auction!  *Additional charge for breakfast.

Seth’s Sauerkraut Revue
Club Helsinki presents Seth’s Sauerkraut Revue on Sunday, July 31 at 8:00 pm.  Hosted by Seth “Sauerkraut”  Travins, this episode of Seth’s Sauerkraut Revue features the Caleb Clauder Country Band from Portland, OR., specializing inpre-rock, old-time country music.  Chops & Sauerkraut, featuring Seth Travins on guitar and Chops Laconte on bass, are a hard-edged rockability, honky-tonk, and garage band influenced by Carl Perkins, the Standellls, Elvis Presley, Bob Wills and the Cramps.  For tickets or more information visit
