Captialand Chorus Performs
The Capitaland Chorus of Albany performs a free, four-part a cappella concert May 10 at 7 p.m. in the Culture Hall at Camphill Ghent, 2542 Route 66 in Ghent.  The Capitaland Chorus is an award-winning chapter in Region 15 of Sweet Adelines International. They are an all-women’s barbershop chorus with more than 45 members of all ages, with varying interests, backgrounds and occupations who live and work in six counties in and around the Capital District. The Capitaland Chorus has performed at many Capital District venues including Proctor’s Theater, the Saratoga Arts Festival, Albany Tulip Festival, Troy Music Hall and Schenectady Central Park.

Project: OM
Bodhi Holistic Spa and Yoga
to participate in World’s largest yoga event of 1 million participants to benefit Susan G. Komen®   to  Support Breast Cancer Research and Community Programs.  Manduka, the world’s most respected brand in yoga, and Susan G. Komen, the largest funder of breast cancer research outside of the U.S. government, have partnered to launch “project:OM,” a mindful movement to drive positive change on an epic level.  Project:OM’s debut event, taking place Mother’s Day weekend – Friday, May 12 through Sunday, May 14 – gathers one million people to participate in the world’s largest yoga class.  The local project:OM class will take place at  Bodhi Holistic Spa, Located at  543 Warren Street in downtown Hudson, NY at 6:00 p.m. on Friday May 12, 2017.   All participants are encouraged to give a suggested minimum donation of $10 in support of Komen’s Bold Goal to reduce the current number of U.S. breast cancer deaths by 50 percent by 2026.  To reserve a spot visit www.bodhiholisticspa.com.

Exhibition Opening Day at Olana

EXHIBITION OPENING DAY on Sunday, May 14 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.  Free House & Landscape Tours Sponsored by Columbia Memorial Health A new art exhibition called OVERLOOK: Teresita Fernández confronts Frederic Church at Olana debuts at Olana State Historic Site on Sunday, May 14. Annual Spring Book and Plant Sale
The Claverack Free Library holds its annual spring book and plant sale on May 12, 13 and 14. The weekend offers book lovers the region’s largest selection of gently used fiction and non-fiction titles and children’s books, all organized by subject beneath the tents.  A special preview reception will be held on Friday, May 12 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. For a $10 entry fee, buyers will enjoy refreshments and have first choice of all books at early bird (double) pricing.  The book sale runs on Saturday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. and on Sunday from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.  Featured at the sale on Saturday are live plants – vegetable, annuals and perennials – as well as an offering of high-quality gardening and landscape design books. Luncheon is served on Saturday and homemade baked goods are available. Also offered on Saturday are free activities for children. The library is located at 629 State Route 23B, Claverack, New York. Mother’s Day Brunch at The Falls
Mother’s Day Brunch!  Sunday May 14, 2017 from 11:00-2:30 at The Falls (158 Union Turnpike Hudson, NY 12534).  The price is $41.95 per person and children 6-12 are half price (children 6 and under are free). The Two of  Us Productions, the award winning theater based in Columbia County presents RUMORS, by Neil Simon

Salon Concert

Reading at Chatham Bookstore

The Ghent Playhouse Presents True West
The Ghent Playhouse proudly presents True West written by Sam Shepard and directed by Patrick White from May 19 – June 4.  Shows are Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm.  In this funny, dangerous and profound play, two estranged and seemingly different brothers are reunited after five years at their mother’s home in California.  A visit from Hollywood film producer creates a power shift between the two, thrusting the paly into verbal and physical violence as the brothers fight for  possession and control.  The Ghent Playhouse is located at 6 Town Hall Place in Ghent.  To make a reservation visit www.ghentplayhouse.org or call 800-838-3006.

Hudson Berkshire Wine & Food Festival

PS21 Announces 2017 Schedule of Events
PS21: Performance Spaces for the 21st Century in Chatham is happy to announce its 2017 program of music, dance, and live theater. Opening Night of this, their twelfth season, will be a performance by Alicia Svigals’ Klezmer Fiddle Express. Other season highlights include The Rory Block Gospel & Blues Fest Weekend, classical piano concerts featuring Bach’s Goldberg Variations performed by Simone DInnerstein and Chopin’s Preludes performed by Lincoln Mayorga. In addition, there will be play readings and films about the American immigrant experience. Rounding out the season is the month-long Chatham Dance Festival, which features some of today’s most influential dance companies and a month-long Parson Dance residency. Mac-Haydn Theatre Box Office is Open
A sure sign that summer is coming happens May 1, when The Mac-Haydn Theatre Box Office opened for the season.  Pre-season box office hours will be 10:00 am – 5:00 pm daily   The professional musical theatre season opens on May 25 for the 49th Season with “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”!  You can order single tickets, season subscriptions and groups for all seven musicals as well as the Mac-Haydn Children’s Theatre productions and Mac-Haydn Monday’s shows.  You can call the box office to order tickets at 518-392-9292 or visit their website at www.machaydntheatre.org where you can also find a list of all the upcoming shows for the season.
