Iron Horse Cigar Depot Charity Golf Tournament

The Two of Us Productions Presents Lend Me a Tenor

Open Day at Equine Advocates
Saturday, May 19.  Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary.  OPEN DAY!  11:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Located at 3212 State Route 66. Just 2 miles north of the village of Chatham.  Come spend a few hours walking around and meeting our 80 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules, most of whom were rescued from slaughter, abuse and/or neglect. All are now happily enjoying their new life at the sanctuary. Please feel free to picnic at our pond which is one of the most beautiful and serene spots at the sanctuary. We have graphics posted at each paddock so you can learn about where each animal came from and why they needed to be rescued. This helps make your visit a much more personal and educational experience. Please note that all visitors will need to sign a release form upon arrival. Sorry no pets allowed. There is no charge, but we surely do appreciate donations!   Equine Advocates is a national non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the protection of horses, ponies, donkeys & mules.

10th Annual “Columbia Cruisers”
John A. Alvarez & Sons is sponsoring the 10th Annual “Columbia Cruisers” car club Saturday, May 19 at their Display Center located 5 miles south of Hudson on Route 9 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.  Come and enjoy the day with your family and check out these beautifully restored vehicles from the days of yesterday.  All proceeds from the sale of refreshments will be donated to the “Wounded Warrior Project” compliments of John A. Alvarez & Sons.  Stop by to have some fun and support the “Wounded Warrior Project.”  While you are there you will be able to view a great selection of fully furnished modular homes on display for your convenience. 

Hudson Berkshire Wine and Food Festival
6th Annual Wine and Food Festival!! – Festival is May 26  (11am-6pm) and May 27 (11am-5pm).  Featuring the five beverage trail members plus other regional wineries, distilleries, cideries and craft beverages. There will also be delicious foods for sale and sampling including gourmet cheeses and creameries, baked goods, grass fed meat producers and more! Throughout the weekend there will be special guest appearances and book signings, seminars of wine and food pairings, home brewing, and cheese making by some of the region’s foremost experts. Design Hudson
Join DESIGN HUDSON to celebrate the extraordinary design and architecture resources of Hudson, NY and our region.  Friday night’s opening party is a rare opportunity to visit the Oliver Bronson House, where historical architectural remnants will be juxtaposed with contemporary furniture, art and home decor created by over 15 Hudson businesses.  On Saturday and Sunday, go at your own pace on our self-guided tour of the Bronson House and six other architecturally significant Hudson homes, each with a room that showcases the work of a local designer.  This intimate look inside Hudson’s historic homes will be a unique experience for design enthusiasts and professionals alike.  Learn more and purchase tickets at https://visithudsonny.com/design-hudson/

Damn Yankees at Mac-Haydn Theatre
Damn Yankees runs May 24 thru June 3.  America’s favorite past times—baseball and musical theatre! See this classic as you’ve never seen it before and start the 50th season off with a home run.  This devilishly clever classic celebrates America’s favorite past time! Follow Joe Hardy, a middle aged baseball fanatic as he sells his soul to the devil to help The Washington Senators win the World Series.  This delightfully fast paced comedy is sure to knock it out of the park with the hit songs “Heart”, “Whatever Lola Wants”, and “Shoeless Joe from Hannibal, MO” to name just a few. Hawthorne Valley School EARTH Program – Info Sessions
The EARTH program at Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School (HVS) is accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year for first, second, fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth grades. The EARTH program offers ‘Waldorf in the Woods’, a nature and farm-based school founded on the Waldorf curriculum.  Two public information meetings will be held this May:  Wednesday, May 9, at 6:45 p.m. in the HVS main building (330 County Route 21C, Ghent) and Saturday, May 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the Philmont Public Library (101 Main St., Philmont).  Inquiries can be directed to our Admissions Director, John Darby (jdarby@hawthornevalley.org or 518.672.7092 x 111), or Stuart Summer, director of the EARTH program (ssummer@hawthornevalley.org).
