New York State COVID-19 News & Updates – Latest NYS Reopening Timeline

Beginning Friday, May 7th

  • Hair Salons, Barber Shops and Other Personal Care Services Will Expand to 75%

Beginning Saturday, May 15th:

  • Casinos and Gaming Facilities Can Increase Capacity from 25% to 50%
  • Offices Can Increase Capacity from 50% to 75%
  • Gyms/Fitness Centers Outside of New York City Can Increase Capacity from 33% to 50%

Beginning Monday, May 17th:

  • The 12:00AM Curfew Will Be Removed for Outdoor Dining Areas
  • The 1:00AM Curfew Will Be Removed for Catered Events where attendees have provided proof of vaccination status or a recent negative COVID-19 test result

Beginning Monday, May 19th:

Beginning Monday, May 31st:

  • The 12:00AM Curfew Will Be Removed for Indoor Dining Areas
  • The 1:00AM Curfew Will Be Removed for All Catered Events

Small Business Recovery Grant Program 
Included in the recently passed New York State Budget was a grant program for small businesses. Below are the eligibility requirements. More updates to follow on the application and approval process. Stay tuned! 

  • For Small business –employees one hundred or less 
  • Micro business – employees ten or less
  • Be incorporated in NYS or licensed/registered to do business in NYS 
  • Be currently viable small business that has been in operation since before March 1, 2019 
  • Be able to demonstrate lost revenue or other economic hardship die to COVID-19 or compliance with COVID-19 protocols resulting in business modifications, interruptions or closures.
  • To show loss of revenue applicant will need to show loss in year-to-date revenue as of Dec. 31, 2020 compared with same time period in 2019
  • Be in substantial compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and codes/requirements. 
  • Not owe any federal, state, and local taxes prior to July 15, 2020 or have an approved repayment, deferral plan or agreement with taxing authorities
